Vincent Trevon Mitchell, a 25-year-old power forward standing 206 centimeters tall, has signed with the Zagreb club following a season with France's JL Bourg-en-Bresse, where he won a European trophy.
Basketball club Cibona confirmed on Wednesday, August 6, 2026, the arrival of American player Vincent Trevon Mitchell, better known as Tre Mitchell. The 25-year-old, born on October 24, 2000, stands 206 centimeters tall and covers the power forward and center positions.
He joins the Zagreb "Wolves" from France's JL Bourg-en-Bresse, a club with which he won the EuroCup last season. "We welcome Vincent Trevon Mitchell to Cibona and Zagreb and wish him much success in the blue-and-white jersey," the club announced.
Mitchell began his college career at UMass, where he immediately established himself as one of the standout young players in the Atlantic 10 conference. In his first year, he earned the conference's Rookie of the Year honor and was named to the All-Conference Second Team, and the following season he was selected to the All-Conference First Team.
After spending two seasons at UMass, he played for Texas and West Virginia, finishing his college experience at Kentucky. During the 2023/24 season, he appeared in 27 games for the Wildcats, starting in 24 of them. He averaged 10.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, making him the team's leading rebounder, and added 71 assists and 26 blocks in total.
He began his professional career in the 2024/25 season with Germany's Basketball Löwen Braunschweig. In the German league, he averaged 9.7 points and 4.6 rebounds, while in the FIBA Europe Cup his output increased to 12.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, with a three-point shooting percentage of 40 percent.
Last season, while playing for JL Bourg in France, he averaged 9.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in the domestic league, shooting 42.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Mitchell is the third new American to join the Zagreb club. Previously, Cibona brought in Rickey McGill, who was the MVP of the Slovak league last year, and Khalif Battle, who played in the EuroCup. Counting Alaskan Kamaka Hepa, who extended his contract, Cibona has already filled the maximum foreign player quota for domestic competitions set by the Croatian Basketball Federation (HKS).
Under the new rules, a club may have a maximum of four players without Croatian citizenship on its roster, with a maximum of three on the court at any given time. Among Croatian reinforcements, Cibona has signed contracts with Lovro Mazalin, Lovro Gnjidić, Roko Badžim, and Antonio Sikirić.
