A Croatian Air Force (CAF) Mi-171Sh helicopter landed in Split on Monday, August 4, 2026, during a complex nighttime emergency medical transport mission. The pilots transported a critically ill foreign national and a medical team between three healthcare facilities, from Dubrovnik to Zagreb, the Ministry of Defense (MOD) reported.
The operation began at the request of the healthcare system from Dubrovnik General Hospital. The helicopter crew first transported the patient and medical staff to the Split University Hospital Center. After a brief stop, the flight continued to its final destination, Dubrava University Hospital in Zagreb, where the patient received further urgent hospital care.
The MOD emphasized that the transport was carried out quickly and safely, despite challenging nighttime conditions. "Every emergency medical flight carries great responsibility because every minute counts," the helicopter crew stated, highlighting the readiness of CAF members to provide support to citizens at any moment.
With this operation, the military pilots once again demonstrated a high level of professionalism and capability in executing the most complex emergency care missions.
