Due to the large number of expected visitors at the Gospin dolac stadium, extensive traffic regulations will be introduced from Friday, August 7, 2026, significantly altering the city's traffic landscape.
The City of Imotski and the police are introducing a series of extraordinary traffic and safety measures for the concert by Marko Perković Thompson, scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 9 PM at the Gospin dolac stadium. A massive influx of visitors is expected, and the entire plan is designed to maintain traffic flow and protect all participants, from the initial roadblocks on Friday to a complete drone flight ban over the city on the day of the event.
Traffic changes will culminate on Saturday with the introduction of one-way traffic in numerous streets, while drivers and citizens are urged to be patient and strictly follow the instructions of officials on the ground.
Gradual roadblocks and vehicle movement restrictions in the center of Imotski will begin as early as Friday, August 7, 2026, affecting ten streets: Jezeranska, Petra Vrdoljaka, Dinka Štambaka, Ante Starčevića, Šetalište Stjepana Radića, Kralja Tomislava, Nikole Šubića Zrinskog, Kralja Zvonimira, Vlade Gotovca, and Matije Gupca. Only emergency vehicles, residents, and those with right of way will be exempt.
Residents who usually park in these streets have received a clear appeal: they must relocate their cars by Friday at 4 PM at the latest. The city has hired a company that will, as soon as conditions allow, remove all parked and abandoned vehicles to increase traffic flow and prevent damage to cars in the crowd.
On the day of the concert, starting at 10 AM, two-way traffic in twelve city sections will switch to one-way. The change affects Bruna Bušića, Blajburška, fra Stjepana Vrljića, Josipa Mladinova, Put Gojka Šuška, fra Rajmunda Rudeža, Antuna Gustava Matoša, Biokovska, Milivoja Pauta, kneza Branimira, Županijska cesta 6184, and Lokalna cesta 67153. The direction of travel for each section has been predefined.
For visitor parking, sections of Bruna Bušića, fra Stjepana Vrljića, Vladimira Nazora, Josipa Mladinova, Blajburška, Put Gojka Šuška, and Županijska cesta 6184 will be designated, along with other suitable areas in the surrounding vicinity. Stewards and police officers on site will direct drivers to available parking spots.
From Saturday at 2 PM until Sunday, August 9, at 5 AM, a temporary no-fly zone up to an altitude of 500 meters will be established over the immediate and wider area of Imotski. This measure explicitly includes unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), with the only exception being aircraft of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Defense.
In parallel, on Saturday, before, during, and after the concert, the police will be filming the area around the Gospin dolac stadium and all access routes. Visitors are advised to be patient when entering the concert zone, to bring enough fluids, and for those on medication to carry it with them. Parents are particularly warned not to let their children out of sight for a moment, given the expected crowds.
"We call on citizens to follow the instructions and orders of police officers and the security service," the police said.
After the concert ends, organizers recommend a slow departure from the stadium to avoid sudden and large crowds, with special care for children, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups. Drivers are reminded to be extra cautious due to the large number of pedestrians and are asked to be patient when merging into traffic.
"Do not drive if you have consumed alcohol. Let's look out for each other, especially when leaving the concert," the police appealed.
