Filip Kostic (33) is the new PSV Eindhoven player. The Serbian footballer continues his career in the Netherlands as a free agent after terminating his contract with Juventus, and the deciding factor was a call from Ivan Perisic. The Croatian international, who already plays for the current Dutch champions, personally convinced Kostic to accept the offer.
After his official unveiling on August 6, 2026, Kostic revealed how the conversation with Perisic went. "He kept telling me: 'Just come, you'll fall in love with the club, and together we'll make life difficult for all our opponents,'" the Serbian footballer relayed the Croatian international's words.
The new PSV player did not hide his excitement about sharing the dressing room with Perisic. "I'm happy we've got the chance to play together, and I want to achieve a lot of success with this great club. I can't wait to get started and let my feet do the talking, because that's what I love most," Kostic said after signing the contract.
Although Greek media had reported in recent days that Kostic was close to joining AEK, coached by Marko Nikolic, the 33-year-old opted for a return to the Netherlands. At PSV, he will be coached by Peter Bosz and will wear the number 18 shirt.
"When PSV contacted me, I immediately knew I wanted to come to Eindhoven and nowhere else. It took some time to finalize the negotiations because I wanted to be sure that my family would feel at home here and that this was the right move. In the end, everything fell into place, and I'm over the moon," Kostic added.
Kostic has signed a two-year contract with the Dutch giants, and he could make his debut on Saturday, September 8, 2026, when PSV host Fortuna Sittard in the first round of the Eredivisie. The match kicks off at 8 PM.
Last season, Kostic made 18 appearances for Juventus, scoring three goals and providing one assist. The season before that, he was on loan at Fenerbahce, where he scored one goal and registered six assists in 27 matches. Throughout his career, he has played for Radnicki, Groningen, Stuttgart, Hamburg, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
