On the night of August 4-5, 2026, Russia launched a combined attack with ballistic missiles and drones on the Kyiv region, hitting vital logistics and production facilities of the Ukrainian home improvement retail chain Epicentr. One company employee was killed and three others were injured in the attacks, the company confirmed via Facebook.
According to Epicentr's statement, the logistics center on Vyskozna Street in Kyiv, one of the company's key facilities, was completely destroyed by fire. At the same time, one worker was fatally injured at the logistics and production complex in Kalynivka, Kyiv region. "Our logistics center on Vyskozna Street in Kyiv, one of the company's key logistics facilities, was completely destroyed by fire. One employee was killed at our logistics and production complex in Kalynivka. Three of our colleagues were injured and remain in the hospital," the company announced on Facebook.
In addition to storage capacities, Russian missiles also struck the production facility of Epicentr Ceramic Corporation. The impact destroyed all kilns in the factory, making its further operation impossible. The company states that this was a deliberate attack on Ukrainian production, logistics, and jobs. Along with the facilities themselves, the employee parking lot was also destroyed, where 20 personal cars burned in the fire.
To avoid supply disruptions and potential product shortages, Epicentr immediately announced a temporary relocation of production. "To avoid product shortages and ensure uninterrupted supply, production will primarily be moved to two of the company's enterprises abroad. In parallel, we are starting preparations to launch production at another enterprise in Ukraine," the company said via Telegram. According to initial estimates, the restoration of destroyed production capacities will take at least a year and a half, and likely around two years. The full extent of the damage is not yet known.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that in the extensive Russian attack on the Kyiv region during the night, a total of 14 people were killed and 22 were injured. The destroyed Epicentr warehouse was located in the DVRZ residential area of Kyiv, further highlighting the devastating nature of the attack on civilian and economic infrastructure.
