Dušan Vlahović is on the brink of one of the most financially lucrative transfers of his career. The Serbian striker is very close to moving to Turkish club Beşiktaş, and according to information reported by Turkish media outlet Fanatik, he is expected to undergo medical examinations in Istanbul as early as today.
After a long period of speculation about his future, the former Partizan forward has decided to continue his career in a league that is investing heavily in football projects this season. He is expected to arrive in Istanbul this evening, and a message to fans has already surfaced: "Black Eagles, I'm coming to Beşiktaş."
Beşiktaş has prepared exceptionally lucrative financial terms for the 26-year-old striker. According to Fanatik, Vlahović is set to earn €10 million per year, which over a three-year contract would total €30 million in salary alone.
But that's not all. The agreement also includes a signing bonus of an additional €10 million, bringing the total value of Vlahović's contract with the Turkish club to as much as €40 million. When factoring in that bonus, the Serbian striker would earn an average of over €13 million per season over the three-year period.
Istanbul is in a state of near "siege." A large number of Beşiktaş fans have begun organizing a welcome for Vlahović, while on the other side, Fenerbahçe supporters are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a Belgian striker. As a result, police forces are expected to have their hands full on the streets of the Turkish metropolis.
All that remains is for Vlahović to successfully complete his medical examinations in Istanbul, after which he should sign the contract. If the exams go without a hitch, the 26-year-old will officially become a new Beşiktaş player.
While waiting for Vlahović's transfer to be finalized, the Turkish club is not resting in the market. According to reports from Goal.com, Beşiktaş is also considering bringing in Fabio Miretti, a Juventus midfielder. Miretti is a player who appeals to coach Italiano, and Turkish sources indicate that interest in him is serious.
