The Krapina-Zagorje County has procured a new ultrasound device for the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Zabok General Hospital and Croatian Veterans Hospital. The 3D/4D Color Doppler is valued at €129,200, comes equipped with four probes, and is already being used in daily practice.

More Detailed Examinations and Better Diagnostics

Department head Rajko Fureš explained the advantages of the new Soluson 20 Signature device on Wednesday. "We can detect both benign and malignant gynecological conditions with high precision, and it also aids in diagnosing normal and pathological pregnancies, which is a tremendous help," Fureš told Ordinacija.hr. He also emphasized that ultrasound diagnostics has no harmful effects on fetuses.

The new device allows physicians to provide significantly better diagnostics, especially for pregnant women, with a very detailed examination of fetal development.

Trust from Patients Outside the County and Rising Birth Rates

Krapina-Zagorje County Prefect Željko Kolar noted that this acquisition is part of continued investment in the department. He particularly highlighted that a third of women giving birth at the Zabok maternity ward reside outside the county's borders.

"Many procedures were performed here in our department for the first time in Croatia, and that individual approach is certainly one of the reasons we have such a large number of births from outside Krapina-Zagorje County," Kolar stated for Ordinacija.hr. He added that this interest confirms trust in the expertise and professionalism of the hospital team. The Zabok hospital has also recorded about 15 more births compared to the same period last year.
