Peak Traffic and Load Factors

Just this weekend, Split Airport expects 205 aircraft and 56,000 passengers. Daily traffic during the peak season, in July and August, ranges between 22,000 and 29,000 passengers, with no day falling below 22,000.

Drone Warning

Melvan also addressed recent incidents involving drones near the airport. "Unregistered drones are treated as a threat and have a negative impact on air traffic," Melvan warned, adding that those who use them improperly will face consequences.

City Port Under Pressure

Increased traffic is also being recorded at Split's city port, which is expected to see more than 75,000 passengers and over 18,000 vehicles this weekend. "Yesterday, we had two additional departures on the busiest route to Supetar, and this morning an extra departure to Supetar was also introduced at 9:30 AM," said Jelena Ivulić, head of Jadrolinija's office for the Split sailing area.
