In Zadar, on Monday, August 11, 2026, the jubilee 10th edition of the humanitarian futsal tournament Antonio Jurjević will take place. The event, launched in memory of the prematurely deceased Antonio Jurjević, has long since outgrown its sporting framework and become a symbol of unity and solidarity. The funds raised at the tournament throughout the year help children and families who need support the most.

Ahead of the jubilee edition, the association posted a short video on social media featuring a conversation with Bruna Kutija, president of the Antonio Jurjević Association, who has been at the helm since the very beginning, a full ten years.

The Unchanged Pillar of the Association

When asked what has remained unchanged over all ten years, Kutija highlighted the importance of the people who form the heart of the organization. "That hasn't changed. I think the main, actually the only thing that hasn't changed over these ten years is precisely the pillar of the association, the closest members and the family," said Kutija in the video posted on social media.

More Than a Sporting Event

Kutija explained how the tournament very quickly outgrew its initial sporting role. "I think for us, the tournament was never just a sporting event. If it was, then it was only in the first year. Right after that, we founded the association. Today, the tournament is our biggest event, but we are not just the tournament. We are a humanitarian association that operates all year round and has work all year," she stated.

She also emphasized that the association's work does not stop with the end of the tournament. "Everything we achieve during the tournament and all the funds we collect are distributed throughout the year. There are meetings, conversations with parents, competitions are held, paperwork is handled... The association's work doesn't last one day, but all 365 days of the year," Kutija explained.

Pride in the Community and a Moment That Says It All

Reflecting on what Antonio Jurjević would be most proud of today, Kutija highlighted the strength of the community: "Honestly, I think he would be most proud of the community and of all the people we can help."

There is also a special moment that gives the association's president strength for all her efforts. "There is. It's every time a parent comes with a child we've helped or are about to help. Then you literally see why you do all this," concluded Bruna Kutija.
