VfB Stuttgart and Bosnia and Herzegovina national team striker Ermedin Demirović is eagerly anticipating the new season. His club will compete on three fronts this season, with particular excitement surrounding their return to the Champions League.
The draw for Europe's elite club competition is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2026, and the 28-year-old Demirović already has clear preferences for opponents he'd like to see in the group stage.
In an interview with Klix.ba, Demirović didn't hide that playing in England would be a special thrill. "If I could choose, I'd love to play away at Arsenal or Liverpool," the Bosnian striker stated, revealing his dream of visiting iconic English stadiums.
Preparations for the demanding season are already in full swing. Demirović joined his teammates in Grassau, Germany, on August 5, 2026, where the squad is working at a grueling pace with double daily training sessions.
Beyond European challenges, Demirović has already circled a special date on the Bundesliga calendar. In late November 2026, in the 10th round of the German championship, Stuttgart will visit Schalke, setting up a direct clash between Bosnia's two leading strikers.
Demirović is full of praise for his senior national team colleague Edin Džeko. "Wherever he's been, he's consistently shown he's an outstanding striker. I can't wait to face him in the Bundesliga," Demirović said.
