Drone Falls on Crowded Beach in Russia: Six Dead

At least six people, including three children, were killed on Monday, August 3, 2026, when a Ukrainian drone crashed onto a crowded beach in the Russian resort town of Arkhipo-Osipovka on the Black Sea coast. Governor Confirms Death Toll, Including Children

"Unfortunately, the death toll in the settlement of Arkhipo-Osipovka has risen to six, including three children," wrote Governor Veniamin Kondratyev on his Telegram channel. He added that it was an "attack on civilian infrastructure" and that emergency services were working at the scene. While most sources, including Spain's El Mundo, report six dead and 47 wounded, the Danish media DR reports seven dead and 40 wounded, citing the same sources from the Russian local administration.

Meanwhile, an attack also occurred overnight on the annexed Crimean Peninsula. The leader of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, reported the deaths of four civilians, according to El Mundo.

Moscow Accuses Kyiv and the West of Terrorism

Russia immediately accused Ukraine of a terrorist act. The spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, told the state agency TASS that "a terrorist gang that has seized the state apparatus of Ukraine is operating in the heart of Europe." In her sharp condemnation, Zakharova extended accusations to Kyiv's Western allies. "The sponsors of terrorism are NATO countries. Recently, NATO and the European Union declared zero tolerance for terrorism. Now they themselves are part of international terrorism," she said.

According to some media reports, the real target of the Ukrainian attack may have been a holiday hotel for specialists and engineers of a Russian military company. Zelensky: Goal is to Stop the War Before Winter
