The Ministry of Demography and Immigration and the 'Croatia for Children' Foundation are launching a pilot program to help families with four or more children purchase a larger car. The news was published on July 31, 2026, and the program is intended to co-finance vehicles with seven or more seats, as reported by Bjelovar Info and Bug.hr.
"Parenting is not supported only through words but through concrete measures that are felt in the everyday lives of families. For families with four or more children, a larger vehicle is often not a matter of comfort but a necessity: for taking children to kindergarten, school, and doctor's appointments, for activities, and for easier management of family life," said Minister of Demography and Immigration Ivan Šipić, as reported by Bug.hr.
According to information from the Ministry, the state will co-finance up to half the price of a new or used car, including VAT. The maximum amount a family can receive is €15,000. A total of €2.2 million has been allocated for this pilot program.
Families with at least four biological or adopted children are eligible for support. The vehicle being co-financed must have seven or more seats. As the Ministry emphasizes, the measure is aimed at families for whom a larger vehicle is essential for daily obligations such as going to kindergarten, school, or doctor's appointments.
The 'Croatia for Children' Foundation will issue a public call in September 2026. It will contain all details, required documentation, and the application procedure. Bjelovar Info and Bug.hr report that applications can be submitted once the call is officially published.
