In an attempt to evade arrest, the 30-year-old abruptly drove off. The car dragged the two officers several meters, running over their feet with the wheel. Both sustained minor physical injuries in the incident.

The prosecution charges the Frenchman with two counts of coercion against an official. After the initial examination, the Municipal State Attorney's Office in Zadar filed a motion with the County Court in Zadar to order pretrial detention.
