The Croatian National Theatre in Osijek is once again preparing its traditional program called the September Theatre Click. Throughout September 2026, audiences can expect a series of seven carefully selected performances covering drama, comedy, a concert, and operetta, all at special promotional prices.
The program opens on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 7 PM with the extraordinary and gripping drama Before the Stars Fall. The play is written by Beth Steel and directed by Saša Broz. As the theatre notes, this powerful story leaves no one indifferent and marks a strong start to the September program.
Music lovers can look forward to a special event on September 15, 2026, at 7 PM. The concert Pop-Rock Rhapsody, performed by the soloists, orchestra, and band of the Opera of the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek, blends the passion of rock with the elegance of classical music. Mladen Tutavac takes up the baton, promising a top-tier musical experience.
The powerful and provocative drama Lord of the Flies, based on William Golding's cult novel, is scheduled for two performances: on Thursday, September 17, and Saturday, September 19, 2026, both at 7 PM. Director Vanja Jovanović brings the story of a group of boys stranded on a deserted island and their rapid descent into savagery.
Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 7 PM is reserved for Ray Cooney's hit farce Two into One, directed by Olja Đorđević. Audiences can expect chaos filled with mistaken identities and unexpected appearances, where, according to Murphy's law, everything that can go wrong does. Just two days later, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 7 PM, the lavish and witty operetta by Emmerich Kálmán, Countess Maritza, takes the stage. The director is Damir Lončar, and the excellent opera ensemble of the Croatian National Theatre in Osijek will be conducted by Vladimir Piskunov.
The September Theatre Click concludes on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 7 PM with Dušan Kovačević's cult comedy The Marathon Family. The play is also directed by Olja Đorđević, and the theatre notes that this sharp satire with top-notch humor continues to fill the auditorium, making audiences laugh to tears and prompting reflection.
