Residents of Knin and the wider Šibenik-Knin County should prepare for increased noise in the air during Tuesday and Wednesday. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia (MORH) has announced that the Croatian Air Force (HRZ) will carry out planned flight activities on August 4 and 5, 2026.
Preparations for the Major Anniversary
The activities of HRZ helicopters and aircraft are part of the preparations and maintenance of the central ceremony marking Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day, Croatian Veterans Day, and the 31st anniversary of the military-police operation Storm. The center of the event is traditionally the city of Knin.
On Tuesday, the MORH stated that due to intensive flights across the entire Šibenik-Knin County, increased noise can be expected on both days.
Appeal to Drone Owners
In addition to the noise warning, the Ministry of Defense has issued an important notice for all drone owners. In accordance with legal regulations, the use of drones in the area of the City of Knin will be strictly prohibited on August 4 and 5 due to the planned flight activities.
The MORH calls on citizens to respect this temporary ban to ensure the safety of all participants and the smooth running of the commemorative program.
