Although his departure from Poljud was confirmed last Monday, Filip Krovinović (30) patiently waited for the right moment. On Monday, August 3, 2026, he published a farewell message that resonated deeply with Hajduk fans. The nearly three-thousand-word text, shared on social media, marks an emotional end to a five-year story in the white jersey.
"For days now, I've been trying to figure out where to start and what to say, what message to send?" Krovinović began his post, adding that writing words of farewell is not easy. "After 5 years, 2 Croatian Cups, and 192 appearances, today I have to write words that are not easy to write."
The midfielder emphasized how much it meant to him to wear the jersey of the club he had supported since childhood. "For me, it was the greatest honor and privilege that football has given me so far," he wrote. He was particularly affected by the fact that he couldn't say goodbye on the pitch the way he had hoped.
"Fate decided that my last match was when I got injured, and that was perhaps the saddest moment of all in these 5 seasons because I didn't have the chance to say goodbye to you as it should have been," he revealed. Still, he also said that "life writes magical stories" and that he doesn't know what the future holds.
The longest part of the message was dedicated to the fans, whom he called the best in the world. He thanked them "for unconditional love, for every flag, for every song, for every away game, for the good and bad words, and even for every whistle." He noted that all of it stirred a "defiant spirit" in him and reminded him of moments when Tutti Frutti would echo around Poljud, creating the feeling that there weren't just 11 players on the pitch.
He also extended special thanks to his teammates, whom he now calls friends. "Being vice-captain and captain in a few matches in this team (yeah, vice-captain and captain of Hajduk, what are we talking about, just saying it gives me goosebumps) was something I will never forget," Krovinović wrote.
He didn't forget his family either, describing them as his "safe harbor, whether football rewards me or knocks me down."
Although he is leaving Poljud, Krovinović said that Hajduk and its fans will "forever remain with me." He continues his career in Brazil, where he will play for Gremio. He concluded his long message with words that particularly touched the fans: "I will remember you all forever. I already miss you all. Love, your Burke."
