On Wednesday, August 6, 2026, the Mayor of Metkovic, Dalibor Milan, hosted a reception for Vida Batinovic, a young bodybuilder who won a bronze medal at the 2026 IFBB European Championships.
Batinovic competed at the prestigious event held from May 1 to 3 in Barcelona, representing Croatia. In the Men's Physique category for the 15-20 age group, he managed to secure third place and step onto the winner's podium.
The competition in his category was exceptionally strong, with a large number of talented athletes from across Europe, making a top-three finish a significant sporting achievement.
During the reception at the City Administration offices, Mayor Milan congratulated Batinovic on his result and presented him with a special recognition for promoting the reputation of the City of Metkovic, along with a symbolic award.
It was emphasized that such success did not come by chance, but is the result of daily training, strict dieting, great sacrifices, and long-term dedicated work, making the European bronze an even more valuable achievement.
