The Montenegrin actor won his first film award at the festival in Trebinje, and an unexpected call completely overwhelmed him. The presence of his loved ones added special weight to the recognition.
Montenegrin actor Momčilo Otašević couldn't hold back his tears after receiving news that completely changed his day. During an ordinary drive across the Pelješac Bridge, a phone call brought him the information that he had been awarded the Grand Charter of Leotar for Best Actor at the 14th Mediterranean and European Film Festival in Trebinje.
The prestigious recognition was given for his portrayal of the character Maksim Grahovac in the film "Crna truba" (Black Trumpet) directed by Bojan Stijović. Interestingly, he shared the award equally with acting legend Zijah Sokolović, who was celebrated for his role in the film "Paviljon" (The Pavilion).
"This is my first film award," Otašević stated for Večernji list, recalling how fifteen years ago he first stood before a film camera at an audition for the film "Krugovi" (Circles). The long wait for the first major recognition made this moment even more emotional.
The actor revealed that his mother, daughter, and aunts were staying in Vilusi at the time and managed to arrive at the awards ceremony in Trebinje. It was their presence that gave this professional success a deeply personal meaning. "This is a beautiful crown to everything, primarily because of my parents, and I cried tears of joy," Otašević admitted.
Speaking about the intense work pace, Otašević described an interesting phenomenon that many actors encounter. During filming, he claims, the body simply doesn't allow fatigue or illness to take control. As an example, he cited scenes he shot in a sleeveless shirt at minus five degrees Celsius, after which he would wake up the next morning completely healthy.
However, as soon as the work season ends and rest days arrive, the body gives in. "Only then does accumulated fatigue surface through colds and other minor ailments," the actor explained, adding that adrenaline clearly carries him through the most demanding professional challenges.
Otašević's past includes a marriage to Croatian actress Jelena Perčin, with whom he has two children, daughter Maša and son Jakša. Even after their divorce, the children remained their most important connection. Jelena Perčin recently opened a new life chapter by marrying musician Ante Gela, and according to media reports, the intimate wedding took place in Italy surrounded by family and closest friends.
Recall that Perčin appeared on the show "Show na kvadrat" last September, where she spoke openly for the first time on camera about her ex-spouses, divorce experiences, and family relationships, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a positive image of the other parent in front of the children, regardless of disagreements.
