The accident occurred on Wednesday evening in Mišulinovac Street, where the driver veered off the road, plowed through a yard, and struck a family home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
A real drama unfolded on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in the evening hours in Veliko Trojstvo. A 28-year-old driver under the influence of alcohol caused a traffic accident that could have ended tragically, but thankfully, it passed without any injuries.
According to information from the portals Klikni.hr and Bjelovar Info, the accident occurred around 11:20 PM on Mišulinovac Street. The driver was traveling in a passenger car but, due to improper driving, failed to maintain his lane. At one point, a right turn caused him to cross over the curb onto the sidewalk, after which the vehicle moved out of control.
The car then, in a skid, changed direction to the left, crossed into the opposite lane, and went over a field access bridge and drainage ditch, ending up in the unfenced yard of a family home. The vehicle's movement through the yard damaged the decorative hedge and shrubs, and finally, the front undercarriage struck the house wall, balcony, and balcony railing, where the vehicle came to a stop.
When police arrived at the scene, a breathalyzer test showed that the 28-year-old had as much as 2.25 g/kg of alcohol in his system. This high concentration clearly indicates that the driver was heavily intoxicated, leading to a complete loss of control over the vehicle.
Although material damage was caused to the house and yard, the most important thing is that no one was injured in this unusual accident. The driver's license was temporarily revoked, after which he was taken into custody and placed in a special police holding cell until the alcohol wore off. Police report that a criminal complaint will be filed against him with the competent court.
