Contract Signed for A7 Motorway Section Jadranovo, Selce Worth €252 Million

A ceremonial signing of the contract for the construction of the A7 motorway subsection Jadranovo, Selce took place in Crikvenica on Friday, July 31, 2026. The contract, valued at €252 million excluding VAT (€315 million including VAT), was signed by representatives of Hrvatske autoceste (HAC) and the consortium of bidders, as reported by Financije.hr.
Boris Huzjan, CEO of HAC, emphasized the technical complexity of the project. The 12.3-kilometer route includes the construction of 11 viaducts and bridges, as well as eight tunnels. The deadline for completing all works is 42 months, with construction expected to begin this fall.
The works will be carried out by a consortium comprising Kolektor CPG, Kolektor Koling, CGP, Gorenjska gradbena družba, and Euro-asfalt, as reported by Burin Rijeka. Kristjan Mugerli, Director of Kolektor CPG, expressed confidence in the high-quality and timely execution of the works, noting that the consortium brings together over 3,000 employees and around 500 engineers.
"The Croatian market is important to us; notable projects we have been involved in include the D-403 road in Rijeka and the Novi Vinodolski bypass, where works are currently underway," Mugerli told Hina, as reported by Financije.hr.
This contract signing is a continuation of the A7 motorway project from Križišće to Žuta Lokva. In March 2026, a contract was signed for the Križišće, Jadranovo subsection, and now the extension towards Selce follows. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković highlighted the importance of this infrastructure undertaking.
"We are continuing the implementation of a project of exceptional importance for Primorje-Gorski Kotar and Lika-Senj counties, as well as for the entire Croatian transport system. By building this section, we will further enhance traffic safety and flow, and create conditions for the continued economic development of this part of Croatia," said Butković, as reported by Burin Rijeka.
The Minister added that this is the first major investment in road infrastructure in the area in over 45 years, since the construction of the Crikvenica viaduct and bypass. Total investments in the two motorway sections from Križišće to Selce amount to around €400 million. "These are exclusively HAC funds, which, after restructuring, can once again build motorways," Butković explained to HRT.
The ceremony at the Hotel Miramare was attended by numerous local officials, according to Riportal. Deputy Prefect of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Robert Matić emphasized the broader significance of the project for the local population.
"This is not just 12 new kilometers of motorway, but a major change for the people who live, work, and create here. This is a project that will significantly improve traffic safety and flow, relieve the existing road network, and open up new development opportunities for this region," Matić stated, as quoted by Burin Rijeka.
Matić also added, as reported by Fiuman.hr, that without good transport connectivity, there can be no stronger economic development, and that the motorway will contribute to strengthening the investment potential and tourism competitiveness of the county. "Most importantly, residents of this area will gain a safer and higher-quality transport route and new opportunities for life and development," he concluded.
