Sinj Celebrates 311th Alka: Vuco, Grašo, and Fireworks

After the 311th Sinjska Alka concludes and a new victor is proclaimed, the City of Sinj is preparing a grand celebration that will last several days. The central event will be a concert by Siniša Vuco at Trg dr. Franje Tuđmana on Sunday, August 9, 2026, followed by a spectacular fireworks display in honor of the winner.
However, starting today, August 6, Sinj is already the center of a rich cultural and entertainment program. Organizers have prepared a series of events for all generations, from exhibitions and pub quizzes to a spiritual music festival and major concerts.
Art lovers can view an exhibition of sculptures in honor of Our Lady of Sinj at Brnaška Street from 5:30 PM, created by Andrija Vučković Maći. An hour later, at 8:00 PM, the finals of the 4th Summer Pub Quiz League will take place at Hotel Alkar, organized by the Association for the Promotion of Creative Activities Sinj.
The spiritual atmosphere will be provided by the Klapa Gospi Sinjskoj Association, which organizes the 17th Festival of Marian Songs at the Basilica of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj at 8:30 PM. The evening will conclude at 9:30 PM with Petar Grašo's concert "Cincidela: Nights on the Pebble" at Hotel Alkar.
The program continues on Friday, August 7. At 5:30 PM, the Knightly Alka Society organizes the traditional Bara at the Alka Racetrack. In the evening, starting at 8:00 PM, KUDŽ Filip Dević will perform at Alkarski Dvori with the program "Geni Kameni."
An hour later, at 9:00 PM, at the Mladen Pavić Kembo basketball court, the Sinj Majorettes and their guests will entertain the audience, organized by KUU Sinjske mažoretkinje.
The highlight of the celebration is expected on Sunday, August 9, 2026. At 10:00 PM, a free concert by Siniša Vuco will begin at Trg dr. Franje Tuđmana. The audience will have the chance to sing along to his well-known hits such as "Volim piti i ljubiti," "Tražena si roba u gradu," and "Podigla me iz pepela."
The celebration of the biggest day in the Alka year will be rounded off with a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the sky above Sinj, paying tribute to the new victor. The City of Sinj has invited all citizens of Sinj, their guests, and all visitors to join the celebration with free admission.
