At the public institution for culture "Zvonimir" in Solin, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, agreements on co-financing housing loan interest rates were signed. This measure by the City of Solin has been granted to 125 individuals, who will receive €100 monthly, or €1,200 annually, into their accounts.
The City's public call received 133 applications, confirming that the measure is well-targeted and significantly eases the repayment of housing loans. Mayor Dalibor Ninčević expressed satisfaction with the response and noted that the beneficiaries are mostly young people.
"I would like to express my satisfaction with the number of fellow citizens who have qualified for co-financing. As a City, we strive to acknowledge and support the needs of our citizens in various life situations. For the second year now, we have been implementing measures and the Program for Co-financing Housing Loan Interest Rates, and we can see that today, most of the attendees are young people. The amount we provide is not large, but I believe it will help," Ninčević told DalmacijaDanas.
In addition to direct financial aid, the City of Solin is also working on long-term solutions. The Mayor announced that land is being sought for the construction of housing units intended for young families and tenants. Around €150,000 has been allocated for this purpose through a budget revision.
"In parallel with these measures, we are also working on a plan to find land to secure housing units for our citizens, mainly young families, and to provide a long-term solution to the housing problem for tenants as well. Through the budget revision, we have secured funds for this purpose, around €150,000, and I invite all citizens to follow the City's website to keep up with these and similar measures that lie ahead," Ninčević concluded.
Solin has been implementing the loan interest co-financing program for the second consecutive year, alongside a measure to co-finance tenancy, indicating a systematic approach to addressing the housing needs of young people in this Dalmatian city.
