Two members of the Croatian quadruple sculls returned to Split after winning bronze at the European Championships in Varese, where they were greeted by enthusiastic club members.
Mornar Rowing Club organized a festive welcome for its bronze medalists Roko Bošković and Goran Mahmutović, who returned to Split after a major success at the European Championships in Varese, Italy. The two Split natives were part of the Croatian quadruple sculls that won the bronze medal.
The Croatian crew, which included Damir Martin and Ivan Talaja alongside Bošković and Mahmutović, secured the medal in an extremely tight race. According to DalmacijaDanas, the Croatian four crossed the finish line with a time of 5:40.40, which was enough for third place. The drama was complete as fourth-placed Romania trailed by just 24 hundredths of a second. Germany took the gold, while Poland claimed the silver.
Upon their return to Split, the rowers were welcomed by members and friends of Mornar at the club's premises. "We welcomed our bronze medalists! Roko and Goran, welcome home! Bravo, guys, Split and Mornar are proud of you," the Split club said, as reported by HRT Sport.
This result is a special reason for celebration at Mornar, which provided two national team members for yet another European medal in Croatian rowing, won against the best European crews.
