On the night before Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and the Day of Croatian Defenders, Senj shone in a special light. At exactly midnight, hundreds of lit flares illuminated the city harbor and quays, creating an impressive sight that paid tribute to Croatian defenders and marked the 31st anniversary of the military-police operation Storm.
The organizer of this spectacular event was the fan group Garage Boys Senj, which gathered numerous citizens eager to take part in commemorating one of the most important dates in recent Croatian history.
Before the flare display itself, a special concert titled "With Love for the Homeland" was held at Bishop Mirko Ogrizović Square. The program began with a performance of the Croatian anthem sung by Tea Španić, followed by performances from the klapa Senjkinje, the bands Skala and Bonaca, and the duo Tamara and Špika.
Among those gathered were also members of the Senj Association of Defenders Uskok-Senj, further emphasizing the importance of unity and remembrance for those who gave the most for Croatia's freedom. The entire program was dedicated to all Croatian defenders, with special emphasis on remembering the fallen defenders from the Senj area.
