According to the report from the Geophysical Department of the Faculty of Science in Zagreb, the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, seven kilometers north of Cavtat, near the town of Zagradinje. The intensity at the epicenter was estimated at III to IV degrees on the EMS scale.

The data was also confirmed by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), which reported on its platform that an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.7 was recorded 13 kilometers southwest of Trebinje.
