The period of extremely high temperatures continues today in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The heat wave is in full swing, and residents can expect another sultry, mostly sunny summer day, N1 BiH reports.
Temperatures Reach Up to 40 Degrees
According to forecasts, the highest daily air temperatures in most parts of the country will range between 34 and 40 degrees Celsius. Given such high readings, citizens are advised to be cautious, avoid sun exposure during the hottest part of the day, and drink fluids regularly.
The hot day was already heralded by morning temperatures. The lowest morning air temperatures generally ranged between 15 and 20 degrees, while the south of the country was significantly warmer, with temperatures up to 25 degrees.
Afternoon Showers Possible
In the second part of the day, there will be a slight to moderate increase in cloud cover. Due to high temperatures and cloud formation, isolated local showers may occur in the afternoon hours. This phenomenon is expected primarily in Herzegovina and the southwestern part of Bosnia.
Wind will be light to moderate. In Bosnia, it will blow from the east and northeast, while in Herzegovina, a southerly wind (jugo) is expected.
Hot in Sarajevo Too
In the capital, Sarajevo, sunny weather will prevail in the morning, while the afternoon brings a slight to moderate cloud cover. The lowest morning temperature in Sarajevo was around 17 degrees, and the highest daily temperature will reach around 35 degrees.
