In a series of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory over the weekend, both a major logistics center in the Vladimir region and a playground in the border Belgorod region were hit, where a 13-year-old girl was killed. These incidents further deepen tensions and bring new civilian casualties to a war that is increasingly spilling across borders.
In the early hours of August 3, 2026, Ukrainian forces allegedly struck a Wildberries logistics center in the town of Khryastovo in the Vladimir region, according to Russian Telegram channels and the Kyiv Independent. According to the Ukrainian source Operatyvne ZSU, the area of the attacked warehouse is as large as 172,000 square meters.
Photos and videos shared on social media by local residents show thick black smoke rising above the facility. The extent of the damage has not yet been officially confirmed, and the Ukrainian military has not commented on the attack. This is already the second attack on a warehouse of this e-commerce giant in two days, after a warehouse in the Samara region was reportedly hit the day before.
According to Index.hr, a Russian technology institute involved in the development of drones and military technology was also hit during the night.
Wildberries, a company often compared to Amazon and whose founder Tatiana Kim is the richest woman in Russia, has found itself in the crosshairs of Ukrainian attacks on Russian infrastructure. In a statement on July 31, 2026, Kim described the security measures the company is taking and explained why it will not compensate customers affected by the attacks.
"Ukrainian attacks on warehouses 'constitute force majeure'... 'Regardless of whether this clause is included in the terms of service, these losses are not subject to compensation under the law,'" the Kyiv Independent quotes the founder as saying.
On the same day, a Ukrainian drone struck an area adjacent to a playground in the village of Printsevka in the Belgorod region, near the Ukrainian border. Acting Governor Alexander Shavayev announced on Telegram that doctors tried but failed to save a 13-year-old girl who sustained severe injuries. Two girls aged 7 and 9 were hospitalized, Tportal reports.
Russia's Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, strongly condemned the attack, calling it, according to Russian news agencies, "another inhumane terrorist act by the Kyiv regime." The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident.
These attacks are part of a broader pattern of almost daily Ukrainian drone strikes on targets inside Russia, which have intensified over the past year. According to the Kyiv Independent, Wildberries also lists a range of military equipment on its website, including drone parts and bulletproof vests, while the company's financial arm was sanctioned by the European Union in July for its contribution to the Russian state budget.
