Ahead of the highly anticipated clash between Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgović and unbeaten Brit Moses Itauma, a statement from Oleksandr Usyk has arrived that could add extra spice to the atmosphere. The former heavyweight ruler believes Hrgović won't be too big an obstacle for the 21-year-old talent.
"Hrgović is not a big test, but he is a test. I think Moses is a special fighter. He is the future," Usyk said in an interview with DAZN. The Ukrainian went a step further, believing Itauma can also overcome Agit Kabayel, who is among the best heavyweights today.
Moses Itauma (14-0, 12 KOs) has been emerging as one of the most exciting talents in world boxing for some time now. In his last outing, he defeated Jermaine Franklin via technical knockout in the fifth round, further cementing his status as a fighter with high expectations.
In contrast, Filip Hrgović (20-1, 15 KOs) enters the fight on a three-fight winning streak, against Joe Joyce, David Adeleye, and Dave Allen. The experienced Croatian boxer aims to prove he still belongs at the very top of the heavyweight division, and this will also be the biggest test of the young Brit's career so far.
