After more than 30 years in the spotlight, one of Croatia's most beloved pop singers will perform as part of the Summer at the Castle event, promising a few surprises along the way.
One of Croatia's most recognizable pop performers, Vanna, will hold a concert on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Trsat Castle in Rijeka. The show, starting at 9 PM, is part of this year's Summer at the Castle event, and the audience can expect an evening filled with hits from her extensive career.
Vanna, whose real name is Ivana Ranilović-Vrdoljak, has been a presence on the music scene for over three decades. She began her career in the early 1990s as the lead singer of the band ET, with whom she achieved a string of successes and performed timeless hits like "Tek je 12 sati," "Da ti nisam bila dovoljna," and "Ja ti priznajem." After going solo, she released numerous successful albums and songs, including "Strune ljubavi," "Kao rijeka," "Ljubav putuje vlakom," "Puna memorija," "Loš trenutak," and "Najbolji ljudi."
Over the years, she has won numerous music awards, and in 2001, she represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest. In recent years, she has also become known to audiences as a mentor on the popular TV show The Voice.
Ahead of her performance at one of Croatia's most beautiful summer stages, Vanna shared with Novi list what the audience can expect. "I want to give people a wonderful evening and something unexpected, because that's exactly what they deserve for coming to this beautiful place," the singer said. She added that the view from the stage of the audience and the Rijeka bay is a reward in itself, and she and the band will ensure even more unforgettable performances.
She also reflected on how her songs manage to connect different generations. "There's a trend these days where young people discover old songs in various ways; often it's TikTok, but not only that," Vanna told Novi list. She noted that she's happy to have songs she still enjoys performing, but also that creating new music is important to her. "It would be unwise to deny the audience what they love, wouldn't it?" she added.
Speaking about trends in music, Vanna emphasized that she keeps up with the latest developments. "I love modern production in music, I notice new trends in pop singing as such, and I also adopt fashion trends, so I'm my own trendsetter," she said for Novi list.
The audience at Trsat Castle will also have the chance to hear a new song. "I'm excited that we'll perform the new song 'Toliko toga' at the Castle, which had its premiere at Split's Melodije Jadrana festival, and I'll release more new songs in the fall," Vanna announced.
Tickets for the concert are available in presale for €20, and they can also be purchased at the entrance on the day of the show.
