This morning, shortly before 11 a.m., thick smoke rose over Pula's Valelunga district, alarming residents who began sending photos and videos from the Končar area to the Glas Istre newsroom. As Morski has learned, a report of a fire involving grass and low vegetation was received at 10:48 a.m.
Rapid Response by Firefighters
Units from the Pula Public Fire Brigade (JVP) and the Pula Volunteer Fire Department (DVD) immediately responded. According to the duty officer at JVP Pula, three vehicles with seven firefighters from JVP and one vehicle with two firefighters from DVD Pula took part in the intervention.
Thanks to the quick response, the fire was contained by 11:02 a.m. However, operations at the scene are still ongoing.
"The fire is not out. It has been contained, and extinguishing and soaking of the fire site are in progress," the duty officer at JVP Pula told Morski.
Cause Still Unknown
The cause of the fire is not yet known. It will be determined by an investigation once the entire operation is complete. According to information so far, there are no injuries and no property damage has been reported.
