On Thursday, August 6, 2026, at approximately 9:20 PM, a serious traffic accident occurred on the D8 state road in the town of Žaborić, in which a 35-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured. According to police information, the accident was caused by a 43-year-old driver of a passenger car.
The collision occurred when the 43-year-old, driving a car with Šibenik license plates, entered the roadway and turned left in a blind curve. This maneuver was prohibited by a solid center line. The front left part of the car collided with the front of the motorcycle, also with Šibenik plates, ridden by the 35-year-old, in the middle of the road.
The injured motorcyclist was rushed to the General Hospital in Šibenik, where doctors confirmed he had sustained severe physical injuries. Further details about his condition have not been released.
Due to causing a traffic accident and committing a traffic violation, the police will file a criminal complaint against the 43-year-old driver with the competent State Attorney's Office in Šibenik.
