Carlos Alcaraz, the 23-year-old Spanish tennis player, is still recovering from a wrist injury that has kept him off the court, but that hasn't stopped him from being very active on social media. According to Dnevnik.hr, Alcaraz gave a short and clear answer to the ATP's question, declaring Novak Djokovic the best at performing the so-called 'splits' or 'slides'.
The ATP posted a photo on its profiles of four top tennis players in characteristic poses reminiscent of Spider-Man. The picture featured Alcaraz, Djokovic, Rafa Nadal, and Andy Murray. Alcaraz's comment was clear: "Djokovic is the answer, why are we even discussing this", as cited by Dnevno.hr, once again publicly confirming his great respect for the Serbian player.
While recovering, Alcaraz missed almost the entire clay-court season due to the aforementioned wrist injury, including Roland Garros, where he was supposed to defend last year's title. He also did not compete at Wimbledon, where he played the final against Jannik Sinner in 2025.
His participation in the upcoming US Open, scheduled from August 30 to September 13, 2026, is now under a big question mark. If he manages to recover in time, the only serious preparation before the last Grand Slam of the season could be the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati.
