Brač and Hvar Get New Water Prices

Residents and entrepreneurs on the islands of Brač and Hvar will soon be paying for water at new rates. At a session held on July 31, 2026, the assembly of the company Vodovod i odvodnja Brača i Hvara d.o.o. unanimously adopted a new Decision on the price of water services for service area 36. The decision specifies in detail the costs of water supply, sewage, and wastewater treatment.
The new price list covers a wide range of users, from households and farmers to business entities in the areas of Supetar, Bol, Milna, Nerežišća, Postira, Pučišća, Selca, Sutivan, Hvar, Stari Grad, Jelsa, and Sućuraj. For the island of Vis and the town of Komiža, prices will be determined at a later date, once conditions allow.
The variable part of the price, which depends on consumption, varies by user category. Households and users with agricultural connections will pay €1.07 per cubic meter, while business users will be charged €1.33 per cubic meter.
In addition to consumption, the monthly bill will also include a fixed component that depends on the diameter of the connection pipe. For the smallest connections of 1/2 and 3/4 inch, this amounts to €4.50. Owners of a one-inch connection will pay €4.74, for 5/4 inch the price is €6.42, and for 6/4 inch it is €9.23. Slightly higher amounts are planned for a two-inch connection (€14.96), a diameter of 60 millimeters (€16.54), and for the largest connections of 80, 100, and 125 millimeters, where the fixed part is €20.69 per month. All these tariffs are quoted excluding VAT.
Users connected to the public sewage system will also see additional items on their bills. The fixed part of the wastewater collection service is €1.95 per month per connection, regardless of its diameter, while the fixed part of the treatment service is €0.56 per month.
In addition to the fixed part, a variable cost will be charged based on water consumed. Wastewater collection for all user categories costs €0.80 per cubic meter, and treatment an additional €0.33 per cubic meter. It is important to note that services vary by location: in the areas of Bol, Hvar, Stari Grad, Jelsa, and Sućuraj, treatment services are also provided, while in Supetar, Milna, Nerežišća, Postira, Pučišća, Selca, and Sutivan, only wastewater collection is available.
A special regime is planned for socially vulnerable citizens. For basic household needs, they will pay only 60 percent of the full price for the fixed and variable parts of the service. The difference up to the full amount will be covered by local self-government units. In addition to the base prices, bills will separately show VAT and fees for water protection, water use, and development.
The decision will be published in the Official Gazette of Split-Dalmatia County and on the utility company's website. It comes into force on the first day of the month following publication, and its validity is planned until December 31, 2029. Upon its entry into force, earlier decisions on prices relating to Vodovod Brač, Hvarski vodovod, and the company Odvodnja Hvar will cease to be valid.
