The Party Bloc of Pensioners Together (BUZ) condemned the behavior of individuals who, in their view, during the commemoration of the anniversary of the military-police operation Storm in Knin, under the guise of paying tribute to fallen veterans, sent messages associated with the NDH. In a statement issued on August 6, 2026, they demanded rigorous sanctions for all those who propagate "historical evil."
The party stated that "there is no doubt that the salute 'Za dom spremni' is an Ustasha salute," noting that during the Homeland War it was used by "relatively few veterans," with most of them, as they claim, not associating it with the NDH. "Unlike the beardless youths, those who distributed black uniforms and weapons to them in 1991 were fully aware of the meaning of the aforementioned salute and its connection to the NDH, which was established as a quisling entity in 1941 under the patronage of fascists and Nazis," the statement reads.
