Police officers on the island of Brač arrested a 42-year-old man suspected of causing serious bodily harm to another man in a road rage incident. The incident occurred on August 2, 2026 at around 5:40 PM on a road in Lovrećina Bay, escalating from a verbal altercation into a physical assault.
According to information gathered by the police, the two men first engaged in a verbal dispute over passing each other in their vehicles. During the incident, it is believed that the 42-year-old pushed the other man to the ground. He then left the scene in his personal vehicle, leaving the injured man on the road.
When he fell, the victim broke the upper arm of his right arm, which was classified as a serious bodily injury. The police immediately launched an intensive search for the perpetrator upon receiving the report.
All available police patrols across the entire island were involved in the search. They had information about the make and color of the vehicle the suspect fled in, as well as the important fact that the car had foreign license plates. Patrols conducted field observations to locate the vehicle and the person associated with the incident.
The search concluded on August 4, 2026 at around 12:45 AM. During a patrol of the Sumartin area, a police patrol spotted a parked car with Czech license plates. Shortly thereafter, the 42-year-old man linked to the incident in Lovrećina Bay was found.
The suspect was arrested and taken to police premises. After the investigation was completed, criminal charges were filed against him on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm, as reported by the police.
