The final day of the Cinehill festival brings a rich program ranging from award-winning films and the unveiling of a monument to the legendary Croatian director to a stand-up paddleboarding course and a theater performance by the lake.
The last day of the Cinehill Film Festival on Sunday, July 26, 2026, is packed with content from morning to late evening: award-winning films, a tribute to Krešo Golik, sports documentaries from Rijeka, and a series of activities at Lake Lepenica round out this festival edition.
The program starts at 11:00 a.m. at Kino Golik with the screening of the film '15 i po' (15 and a Half) by director Milivoj Obradović, which won a special jury mention at this year's festival. Alongside it, 'Držim te' (I'm Holding You) by director Ana Predan, named best domestic short film, is also shown. At the same time, as part of Sports Day, a hiking walk sets off from Caffè bar Čoka to Preradović Peak, offering visitors a final view of the Gorski Kotar landscape.
The central moment of Sunday is dedicated to Krešo Golik, the canonical Croatian director after whom the cinema where films have been screened all week is named. At noon on the Krešo Golik Promenade, his monument will be unveiled, the work of sculptor Darija Žmak Kunić. Immediately after, at 1:00 p.m., Kino Golik screens the documentary classic 'Od 3 do 22' (From 3 to 22) from 1966, one of the most important works by this director. At 1:15 p.m., led by Petra Belc, the audience is presented with film recordings that were not created within official productions or established film clubs, but as part of private and family life.
At 2:00 p.m., Kino Golik screens two award-winning works from this festival edition. 'Muhe' (Flies) by director Fernando Eimbcke was named the festival's winning feature-length film, while the title of best short film went to 'L'Avant Post 21' by director Camille Surdez. These screenings represent the cinematic highlight of the final day for those who have not yet had the chance to see the award-winning works.
At 3:30 p.m., the program moves to Lake Lepenica, where the CRO SUP club leads a stand-up paddleboarding course. While part of the audience tries their balance on the water, at 5:00 p.m. Kino Golik screens two sports documentaries from Rijeka. 'Život na Sisi' (Life on Sisi) by Sanjin Stanić follows Slobodan Dado Velikić's solo regatta across the Atlantic Ocean, and 'Gurati naprijed' (Pushing Forward) by Mirko Žorž tells the story of wheelchair basketball players who see sport as a space for discipline, community, and empowerment. After the screenings, there will be talks with directors Stanić and Žorž and the protagonists of their films.
At 6:00 p.m., Kino Lič offers a second screening of the film 'Trener' (The Coach) by director Andrea Di Stefano. At 7:00 p.m., the program branches in two directions: at Lake Lepenica, Paško Vukasović stages the play 'Trening' (Training), which thematizes masculinity, while at Kino Golik, the dramedy 'Yugo Florida' by Vladimir Tagić is shown, about a disheveled hero whose estranged father learns he is terminally ill, forcing father and son to reexamine their relationship, the past, and life choices. The entire festival concludes at 9:00 p.m. with a screening at Cinema under the Dam, where the film that earned the highest audience rating this week is shown.
