Alongside a series of traffic accidents, three thefts were recorded, including one in Draga where a minor snatched a wallet from a 67-year-old woman in front of her house.

The past few days have been extremely challenging for the officers of the Zadar Police Department. In just one day, between August 3 and 4, 2026, as many as 16 traffic accidents were recorded in their jurisdiction, while police simultaneously dealt with a series of property crimes.

Injuries in Accidents

Several people were injured in the sixteen traffic accidents. One person sustained serious injuries, and two suffered minor injuries. For two other individuals, the severity of their injuries had not yet been classified at the time of reporting, the Zadar Police Department stated.

Thefts in Biograd and Zadar

During the same period, police also recorded two thefts. On Monday, August 3, in Biograd, an unknown perpetrator broke into a parked car with Polish license plates and stole money belonging to a 44-year-old Ukrainian citizen. The material damage is estimated at over a thousand euros.

A day later, on August 4, on Zadar's Peninsula, a 68-year-old Austrian citizen was the target of a thief. An unknown perpetrator stole her wallet containing documents and money, causing damage amounting to several hundred euros. Criminal reports have been filed against the unknown perpetrators in both cases with the Municipal State Attorney's Office in Zadar, and an intensive search is underway.

Case of Bold Theft in Draga Solved

Police officers from the Biograd Police Station were more successful in solving the case in Draga. They conducted a criminal investigation into a minor Croatian citizen suspected of boldly robbing a 67-year-old Croatian citizen on July 31, 2026. While she was in front of her house, the suspect snatched her wallet containing 200 euros from her purse.

The victim soon found the discarded wallet nearby, but without the money. After the investigation was completed, a criminal report was filed against the minor with the competent State Attorney's Office in Zadar for aggravated theft.
