The first evening of the Roman Days in Mokro, held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, attracted tens of thousands of people and created an atmosphere not seen in this part of Herzegovina for a long time. The event in the town near Široki Brijeg surpassed even the most optimistic expectations of the organizers, reports ABC Portal.
Although a parking area of an incredible 100,000 square meters was provided for visitors, the influx of vehicles was so great that there was literally no space left. Columns of visitors kept arriving until late at night, and the entrances were crowded with curious spectators eager for the historical spectacle.
A special mark on the evening was made by members of Roman troops who dominated the area, while tense gladiator fights drew general admiration and thunderous applause from the gathered audience. The program also included numerous creative and educational workshops that attracted a huge number of the youngest visitors and families.
The organization, according to ABC Portal, worked flawlessly from the moment the gates opened, allowing thousands of visitors to enjoy every second of the program. The general impression of all present was that the first evening deserved a perfect score.
