After two years of performing, the young klapa members present "Priče iz Škatulice" to the audience, a chronological journey through their musical growth with renowned guests and actors from the Komedija Theatre.
The Children's Klapa Škatulica will hold its first solo concert tonight, August 4, 2026, at the Cavtat Culture Hall. The program, titled "Priče iz Škatulice", begins at 8:30 PM, admission is free, and the organizer is the Cavtat Tourist Board.
The concert is conceived as a chronological story of the klapa's growth over the past two years. The audience will be guided through the program by actors from the Komedija Theatre, who will also enrich the evening with performances of several well-known songs. Joining the young klapa members on stage will be guests Fabijan Pavao Medvešek and Dražen Bratulić, with piano accompaniment by Nikša Car.
"We are very excited and happy because this is our first solo concert after two years of working together. There's a bit of stage fright, but I think that's perfectly normal. More than anything, we feel great joy and can't wait to step on stage and share with the audience everything we've prepared," said klapa member Miho Radin for JUGInfo.
Radin notes that preparations have actually been ongoing since the very founding of Škatulica. The program is arranged just as they have grown together as a klapa, which gives this concert additional emotional weight.
Klapa member Marija Smišljan announces that the audience can expect much more than just performances. "Every song has its own story, and each one is dear to us in a special way," Smišljan said, adding that the sincere love for klapa music is what they want to share with the audience.
"Above all, we want everything to go as we've imagined and for the audience to enjoy along with us. When we sing together, all the stage fright simply disappears," said Smišljan.
Finally, she expressed gratitude to everyone who believed in the young klapa members, especially their leader, parents, and the audience that follows them. "We hope the audience will take away beautiful memories from our concert and feel at least a part of the love we feel when we sing. See you in Cavtat!" she concluded.
Klapa music enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to enjoy a few days later. On Friday, August 7, 2026, the event "Klape u Zelenoj katedrali" will take place in Proložac, starting at 9 PM. On the stage in front of the altar of the Green Cathedral, the following will perform: the local Klapa sv. Mihovil Proložac, the women's klapa Rozeta from Široki Brijeg, the men's klapa Muccurum from Makarska, the women's klapa Ondine from Šibenik, the men's klapa Zvizdan from Posušje, the men's klapa Pasika from Kostanje, and the Children's Klapa Žižula from Omiš. A special guest of the evening will be a young musical talent from Runovići, Iva Ljubičić.
