Owners of private accommodation looking to enhance their offerings and contribute to sustainable tourism can now apply for a new public call from the Ministry of Tourism and Sport. The program "Competitiveness of the Tourism Economy 2026, Green and Digital Transition of Tourism Entrepreneurs" introduces Measure E, named "Charging Stations for Your Host 'Local Host'", which provides small-value non-refundable grants.

Conditions and Purpose of Funds

Only natural persons engaged in private accommodation rentals are eligible to apply. It is mandatory that they have submitted a request to the Croatian National Tourist Board for the "Your Host / Local Host" status by July 3, 2026, at the latest. This status must be confirmed at the time of submitting the grant application.

The state finances up to 100 percent of eligible costs, with the maximum amount per beneficiary set at €2,000. The funds are intended for the purchase and installation of AC charging stations for electric cars, bicycles, and scooters. According to information reported by the portal IstraIN, charging stations with a rated power between 3.6 and 22 kW are required. In addition to the device itself, the grant covers installation, mounting, management and billing software, and all necessary electrical equipment.

Deadlines and Application Process

Applications opened on July 31, 2026, and will remain open until the allocated funds are exhausted, with the final deadline for submitting documentation being August 31, 2026, at noon. Since funds are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, based on the order of receipt of complete and valid applications, the ministry suggests that interested parties do not delay their applications until the last moment.

The entire process is conducted digitally, through the eTurizam system and the TuRiznica service, requiring eGrađani credentials. All details regarding the required documentation and criteria can be found on the Ministry of Tourism and Sport's website.
