Collision on A3: Car Ends Up on Its Roof
On Monday, August 3, 2026, at around 11 a.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on the A3 highway in the municipality of Brodski Stupnik. According to the investigation, a 77-year-old Serbian citizen driving a car with Serbian license plates failed to maintain a safe distance from a truck with a semi-trailer bearing Vinkovci plates, driven by a 52-year-old man.
The front of the car collided with the rear of the semi-trailer, after which the car flipped onto its roof, fell onto the grass, and hit a directional post and a metal guardrail. The force of the impact threw the vehicle back onto the road.
The 77-year-old female passenger sustained serious injuries, while the driver suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to the hospital in Slavonski Brod, where the woman remained for treatment. The police filed a criminal report against the 77-year-old driver with the Municipal State Attorney's Office in Slavonski Brod, suspecting him of causing a traffic accident in road traffic.
Mikleuš: Truck Overturns in a Curve, Wheat Spills Across the Road
Just a day later, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 12:04 p.m., the Operational Center of the Public Fire Brigade of the City of Slatina received a report of a truck overturning in Mikleuš. The truck overturned in a curve near the Mikleuš Municipality building, and an intervention was needed to rescue the driver from the cab.
Three vehicles with five firefighters from Slatina arrived at the scene and immediately began extracting the driver. After removing him from the vehicle, they handed him over to emergency medical services for further treatment. The Četekovac Volunteer Fire Department also assisted in the operation.
After the people were rescued, the firefighters cleaned the road of oil and fuel that had leaked from the truck. According to unofficial information, the accident likely occurred due to excessive speed. The truck was carrying wheat, which spilled onto the road and alongside it. Traffic on that section of the road was not possible and was redirected to alternative routes. Police officers from the Slatina Police Station are conducting an investigation at the scene, after which the exact cause of the accident will be known.
