Goran Bogdan Ends Seven-Year Theater Hiatus

One of the most recognizable faces in domestic theater, Goran Bogdan, has once again stepped onto the stage. As reported by Tportal, his grand return after seven years away will take place at the Croatian National Theater Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka, where he will perform in the play 'Kazalište' (Theater).

Objectivity Gained in Front of the Camera

Although he hadn't originally planned such a long break, Bogdan admitted in an interview with Danas, parts of which were relayed by Tportal, that this period provided him with a valuable distance and a new level of objectivity toward his own artistic expression. The time spent away from the theater was filled with numerous film projects that significantly influenced his craft.

The actor emphasizes that the experiences gained on set provided him with tools he previously lacked.

"Seven years of acting in film gave me a dose of real-world logic that I perhaps lacked in the theater. While returning to the stage has certainly contributed to the presence that only theater can offer,"

Bogdan explained, adding that the two worlds complement each other perfectly: film brings logic, and theater demands complete focus on the present moment.

Creative Power Beyond the Center

His choice of Rijeka as the place of his return is not coincidental. He sees the city on the Rječina River as a metropolitan hub in spirit and creative energy, and this decision carries a broader message about the importance of decentralizing cultural life. Bogdan believes that true ideological changes happen precisely in smaller communities, which have a specific hunger for quality content.

He is convinced that this hunger is a key weapon in the fight against media trash and that positive social transformations must be driven from the margins toward the center, using spiritual strength as the main tool.

A New Role as Publisher

In parallel with his acting shift, Bogdan, along with friends, founded the publishing house 'Buna', thereby expanding his career into literature. Through this platform, he aims to foster dialogue and work on social normalization, believing that only with quality content can we counter negative trends in the public sphere.

This entire engagement, along with his return to the stage, represents for him part of a broader responsibility he feels both as an artist and as a parent.

"I will build her a better world. That is my duty. And I will defend it tooth and nail,"

Bogdan said, speaking of his obligation to his child and future generations.
