Hajduk coach Gonzalo Garcia could soon receive his eighth signing of the season. As reported by 24sata and carried by Net.hr, the Split club is on the verge of bringing in Bosnia and Herzegovina international Dženis Burnić.
The 22-year-old midfielder primarily plays as a central or defensive midfielder. Burnić is known for his versatility, as he can also cover both full-back and wing positions. Born in Germany, he developed through Borussia Dortmund's youth system and was also a German youth international.
He is expected to arrive in Split as a free agent after his contract with German second-division side Karlsruher expired. According to the specialized website Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated at 1.2 million euros. Hajduk will be the sixth club of his professional career.
Burnić has 22 caps for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Among these, two appearances at this year's World Cup stand out, further confirming his international experience despite his young age.
