Croatian football club Hajduk Split and sports brand adidas unveiled the new away kit for the 2026/2027 season on Wednesday, August 6, 2026. Inspired by the red-and-blue tradition spanning over 105 years and the away kits the club wore in the late 2000s, the new kit brings a clear visual shift that immediately caught the attention of fans.
The most noticeable change compared to previous seasons is the horizontal red-and-blue stripes, replacing the usual vertical ones. The retro aesthetic is further emphasized by the off-white rendition of Hajduk's crest, adidas's logo, the iconic three stripes, and sponsor markings.
The red-and-blue kit first officially appeared in Hajduk's history over 105 years ago and has since been an indispensable part of the club's heritage. In the club's official announcement, it reads: "MORE THAN A CENTURY OF HAJDUK WEARING RED AND BLUE ❤️💙 We present Hajduk's new away kit for the 2026/27 season. Inspired by the red-and-blue tradition spanning over a century and the away kits the Club wore in the late 2000s."
Marinka Akrap, member of the Management Board and Marketing Director of HNK Hajduk Split, explained the approach to the design. "The home kit is the one by which every club is first recognized, but Hajduk's red-and-blue away kit has been part of our identity for over a century, which is why it holds almost equal importance to us, and this season we wanted to draw inspiration from the late 2000s. Horizontal stripes have marked Hajduk's kits far less frequently than vertical ones, which is why they hold a special place in our visual heritage," said Akrap. She emphasized that the intention was not to create a replica of a previous kit, but to translate a recognizable retro expression into a contemporary edition.
The new away kit, like the home one, is made from 100% recycled polyester. On the pitch, adidas's CLIMACOOL technology ensures effective moisture regulation and freshness, which is crucial for performance. The same technology is applied to adidas's kits intended for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Petra Franić, adidas representative, stated: "With this kit, we wanted to combine story and functionality. We found inspiration in Hajduk's rich history and translated it into a modern design that respects tradition while bringing something new. Additionally, CLIMACOOL technology provides players with maximum comfort during the game, so this kit performs equally well on the field as it does off it."
The new away kit is available for purchase at the official Hajduk Web Shop and is also available at all official Fan Shops.
