Croatian national team player Petar Sučić has become a father. His wife Matea gave birth to a son in Milan, and the Inter player cut short the club's preparations in Australia and returned urgently to his family.
Sučić was with the Milan club on their preseason tour in Perth. He had joined the team a bit later due to rest after international duties and was mostly doing running drills. Shortly before the match against Milan, he received news that his wife had gone to the hospital, and he immediately boarded the first flight to Milan.
Because of this urgent departure, he missed the aforementioned match against the city rivals, but the family situation was an absolute priority.
Sučić, who will turn 23 in October, married Matea from Šibenik in January 2026. The wedding was held at a villa on Lake Como. The news that the couple was expecting a child was revealed at the World Cup, after he scored a goal in the match against Ghana.
The couple met in Zagreb while Sučić was playing for Dinamo and Matea was studying. They rarely share details of their private life in public, so the news of the birth of their son was met with special interest from fans.
