The match between Dinamo and Kauno Žalgiris was marked by a routine 4-0 victory for the Croatian champions, but the biggest attention was drawn by a moment that occurred at 3-0. In the 65th minute, whistles erupted at Maksimir, surprising even MAXSport commentator Mateo Pukšar.
Pukšar paused during the broadcast, initially not understanding the reason for the stormy reaction from the stands. "Why, for whom are the whistles? And I see him...", the commentator wondered before realizing that the target of the discontent was the new player of the Lithuanian side. According to Tportal's report, the whistles were heard as early as the 61st minute, when coach Željko Sopić sent Anthony Kalik to warm up.
Kalik completed his transfer to Kauno Žalgiris the day before, on August 3, 2026, and the very next evening he found himself on the roster for the match against Dinamo. He entered the game in the 65th minute, replacing Renan Oliveira, and Dinamo fans, led by the Bad Blue Boys, greeted him with a barrage of whistles. The former Hajduk player, for whom he made 129 appearances with eight goals and seven assists, left the Split club after falling out of favor with coach Gonzalo Garcia.
In an otherwise calm match in front of 12,147 spectators, Kalik was the only player to receive a yellow card. It was awarded in the 85th minute for a foul in midfield.
