The pitch in Petrčane will be the stage for a special sporting event this weekend. It will be remembered not only for goals and victories, but above all for the big heart behind the third edition of the humanitarian futsal tournament "For Our Kids, Petrčane Close 2026." All proceeds from the tournament are earmarked for the Zaratinići Association, which brings together children with severe diagnoses and developmental difficulties, as reported by Antena Zadar.
The organizers have prepared a rich two-day program that combines sports, entertainment, and a humanitarian note. "This is a loud, proud, and emotional message that our kids are never alone," they say from the organization, inviting all people of good will from Zadar, Petrčane, and the entire county to come and show their support.
The tournament kicks off on Friday, August 7, 2026 with the quarterfinal matches. The first teams to take the field are Luigi and Fratelli at 7:00 PM. They are followed by the clashes Kožino, Bonaca at 7:45 PM, Vagabundo, Kraljevski vinogradi at 8:30 PM, and Villa Pino, the two-time defending tournament champion, against Mojito at 9:15 PM.
Saturday's program, August 8, brings the semifinal showdowns. The first semifinal is scheduled for 7:30 PM, and the second at 8:15 PM. The grand final is set for 9:30 PM. A special attraction is the exhibition women's match between the teams of Petrčane and Kožino, which will also take place on Saturday.
In addition to the thrilling futsal clashes, visitors can expect a rich side program. The organizers have prepared a generous raffle, and the youngest will be able to enjoy a fun park. DJ music will also ensure a great atmosphere. Every ticket purchased, every donation, and participation in the raffle directly helps fund therapies, equipment, and a better daily life for the members of the Zaratinići Association.
"Zaratinići are our kids, our little fellow citizens who face severe diagnoses. Their families are not looking for pity; they need our hand of support and proof that the whole of Zadar stands behind them," the organizers emphasize, inviting everyone to come with their families, cheer, and take part in this humanitarian story.
