Over the past weekend, from Friday to Sunday, the Koševo Stadium in Sarajevo was the stage for an unprecedented musical event. Three sold-out concerts by Dino Merlin drew more than 200,000 fans, making this spectacle the largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina's history. After an 11-year absence, the artist's return to the biggest stadium in his hometown turned into a three-day celebration of unity and emotion.
The scale of "Merlinmania" is best illustrated by the fact that within a 100-kilometer radius of Sarajevo, there was not a single vacant room. Hotels were sold out months in advance, and flights to the capital were also fully booked. Sarajevo Airport recorded a record number of passengers precisely during this weekend, officially confirming the immense interest in the event.
One of the most striking moments was the performance of the song "Zbog tebe," released just fifteen days before the concerts. Although it was a brand-new single, the audience embraced it as a long-time hit, singing every word in unison. The spectacular drone show, which featured the likeness of Halid Bešlić above Sarajevo, also stirred deep emotions, sparking a wave of enthusiasm and becoming one of the symbols of these evenings.
Merlin was joined on stage by special guests: Ivana Banfić, Senidah, Marko Louis, and Mahir Beathouse. Their duets blended different musical styles and generations. The entire event featured production on par with the world's biggest stars, complete with impressive visual effects, fireworks, and meticulously designed stage elements.
At the end of the final concert, Dino Merlin addressed the audience with an emotional message. "It's wonderful to fill stadiums, but it's even more wonderful to fill people's hearts. When my life is sifted, and the most significant parts remain on top, these three nights of ours will be among them. Thank you, Sarajevo! Thank you for making me feel so welcome so close to home," the artist said, thanking everyone who has lived with his songs for years.
