The Ministry of the Interior plans to enroll 550 candidates in the Adult Secondary Education Program for the profession of police officer for the 2026/2027 school year. The program is set to begin no earlier than October 19, 2026, and upon completion, participants will be employed in police administrations or organizational units of the Police Directorate, depending on service needs.
The call is open to citizens of the Republic of Croatia who meet several requirements. They must have completed secondary education lasting three or four years and must not have turned 28 years of age by October 19, 2026.
Additionally, candidates must possess specific mental and physical health capabilities, meet the prescribed level of physical motor skills, be personally suitable for police service, and must not be members of a political party.
Applications are submitted through the e-Citizens system, and for minor candidates, parents or legal guardians may submit the application on their behalf. Alternatively, applications can be sent by mail to the Ministry of the Interior, Human Resources Directorate, Ulica grada Vukovara 33, Zagreb, with the note "for the call."
Candidates applying by mail are required to enclose a completed application form available on the Ministry's website, as well as copies of transcripts for all years of secondary school and the final exam, matura, or state matura certificate. Individuals who completed their education abroad must also provide proof of recognition of their foreign educational qualification.
Additionally, candidates must provide proof of priority rights under equal conditions for enrollment, a copy of the decision or certificate confirming the status they are invoking. Members of national minorities are not required to provide proof of ethnic affiliation.
Selection for enrollment in the Program will be conducted according to the Ministry's needs, based on previous academic results, psychological testing, physical fitness assessment, motivational interview, and checks of personal suitability and physical health. Invitations for assessments will be published on the Ministry's website, via the e-Citizens user inbox, SMS, or the email address provided in the application.
Candidates who do not submit a timely and complete application or do not meet the formal requirements will not be considered as applicants. The same applies to those who do not respond to the assessments; they will be deemed to have withdrawn their application. The application deadline runs from April 8, 2026, to August 28, 2026.
