The incident took place off the coast of Oman, with no immediate information on the extent of damage or potential injuries among the crew. UKMTO emphasized that an investigation into the event is ongoing.
According to the UKMTO report, the attack occurred approximately 37 kilometers northeast of the Omani city of Khasab. While details about the attacker and the type of projectile used have not been officially confirmed, the incident further heightens already elevated tensions in the region.
This attack is part of a broader pattern of insecurity on key maritime routes.
